2017 Annual Meeting
78th Annual Meeting
At this year’s annual meeting there were 522 registered members, as well as several guests. Among those in attendance were Frances McCrary, age 94 and Dorothy Thomas, age 94, who were awarded gifts for being the oldest members in attendance. The door prizes that members received this year were a $5.00 electric bill credit, an energy efficiency kit, and an umbrella. All veterans attending the meeting were honored and recognized. Members had a chance to win one of 125 attendance prizes. Congratulations to the grand prize winners, Travis and Terry Nolcox, who won the John Deere riding lawn mower.
During registration, attendees were entertained by bluegrass musicians Mariah Creek, Evan Twitty, and The Riegle Kids. The meeting began with Carsyn Wayland, an eleventh grade student from Sullivan High School, singing the National Anthem followed by Board Director, Phillip Carter leading the invocation. Board Chairman, Daniel Schukman and corporate attorney, Chris Goffinet conducted the business meeting. The financial reports were given by Board Treasurer, Marion Jochim and REMC auditor, Joe Boesing.
The election of directors was conducted and the members that were present voted to elect the following directors to represent the membership in their districts: Barry Bane to represent district 2 and Randy Kuppler to represent district 5.
