2016 Annual Meeting
At this year’s annual meeting there were 532 registered members, as well as several guests. Among those in attendance were Gene Dorsey, age 96 and Harold Scheller, age 94, who were awarded gifts for being the oldest members in attendance. The door prizes that members received this year were a $5.00 electric bill credit, an energy efficiency kit, a tote bag and a green LED light bulb. The green LED light bulb is part of a national campaign, “Greenlight A Vet” to honor our U.S. Military Veterans. All veterans attending the meeting were honored and recognized. Members also had a chance to win one of 125 attendance prizes. Congratulations to the grand prize winner, Janice Nowaskie, who won the John Deere riding lawn mower.
During registration, attendees were entertained by bluegrass musicians from Mariah Creek and The Riegle Kids. The meeting began with Carsyn Wayland, a tenth grade student from Sullivan High School, singing the National Anthem followed by Board Director, Phillip Carter leading the invocation. Board Chairman, Daniel Schuckman and corporate attorney, Chris Goffinet conducted the business meeting. The financial reports were given by Board Treasurer, Marion Jochim and REMC auditor, Joe Boesing.
The election of directors was conducted and the members that were present voted to elect the following directors to represent the membership in their districts: Marion Jochim to represent district 1 and Marlin Dreiman to represent district 4.
