WIN Energy REMC Lobby and Drive Thru Windows Closed (November 23, 2020)

Due to the recent increase in COVID-19 cases, WIN Energy REMC has decided to close their drive thru windows at all three office locations, in addition to their lobbies being closed, beginning Tuesday, November 24 until further notice. WIN Energy REMC Member Service Representatives are available at 800-882-5140 from 7:30 am to 4:30 pm EDT for members to conduct business by phone.  To make a payment or report an outage, call our automated system at 888-456-9876 or use your online SmartHub account or mobile app.

There are several ways members can make payments:

Scam Alert (July 15, 2020) 

WIN Energy REMC has seen a rise in our members reporting scam calls.  Demands for immediate payment over the phone through prepaid cards, gift cards or other unusual methods are scams. If you have a past-due balance, WIN Energy REMC will mail notices and recommend payment options before disconnecting service. If you suspect you are being targeting by a scammer, hang up and contact us at 800-882-5140 to verify whether there are any issues with your account.


Energy Assistance Funds Available. (June 23, 2020)

Through the CARES Act signed in March energy assistance organizations have received supplemental funding for the Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP).  If you have questions or think you might qualify for energy assistance please contact your local energy assistance organization listed below:

WIN Energy REMC to resume delinquent processes July 1. (June 15, 2020)

To help our members during the COVID-19 pandemic, WIN Energy REMC suspended service disconnections due to nonpayment of bills. As our community recovers from the COVID-19 pandemic, starting on July 1, WIN Energy REMC will resume delinquent processes for accounts with a past due balances. We want to help you avoid disconnection of your electric service. If you're unable to pay your bill, please contact us as soon as possible to discuss making a payment or setting up a payment plan. You can reach us at 800-882-5140. We're here to work with you.

Members are encouraged to make payments online through their SmartHub account or mobile app, or by phone at 888-456-9876. Members can also utilize the drop boxes at all three office locations for payments. WIN Energy REMC Member Service Representatives are available at 800-882-5140 from 7:30 am to 4:30 pm EDT for members to conduct business by phone.  

 

The safety and well-being of our members, employees, and communities is of utmost importance. We appreciate your patience and understanding as we work through this difficult time to implement the necessary steps in order to continue to provide our members with safe and reliable electric service. We will continue to monitor the situation and keep you informed as changes are made.


WIN Energy REMC Coronavirus (COVID-19) Financial Hardship Communication (March 16, 2020)

WIN Energy REMC is committed to the safety and well-being of our members, our employees, and our communities. We understand that some members may face financial hardship due to the impacts of the Coronavirus. During this time of uncertainty, we will do everything we can to help you. We ask that you communicate with us by calling 800-882-5140 if you need to make arrangements on your bill. We will continue to provide you with updates and information as it becomes available. By working together, we can all help each other during this difficult time.


WIN Energy REMC Annual Meeting Postponed and Limited Office Access (March 13, 2020)

Due to the nationwide concerns of the Coronavirus (COVID-19), and following the recommendation of the U.S. Center for Disease Control & Prevention (CDC) to limit gatherings of more than 250 people, the Board of Directors and Management of WIN Energy REMC have made the decision to postpone the WIN Energy REMC Annual Meeting that was originally scheduled for April 4, 2020. The safety and well-being of our members, employees, and communities is of utmost importance. At this time, we are focused on maintaining a healthy workforce so that we can continue to provide the excellent service our members expect from us.

 

The cooperative will continue to monitor this situation very closely and evaluate options to reschedule the Annual Meeting later this year. Future notifications will be communicated by mail, in the Indiana Connection magazine, on our website and Facebook page, and through local media.

 

Additionally, effective Monday, March 16, 2020, the three WIN Energy REMC office locations will limit access to their offices until further notice. Members are encouraged to make payments and report outages through their SmartHub online account or mobile app, or through the automated phone system at 888-456-9876. The drive thru and night deposit boxes will remain open at each office, however the front lobbies will not be open to members or the public.
