Our Express Services system is an automated reporting system that allows you to report your outage quickly and easily. The system uses caller ID to link to your account. However, it gives you the option to enter the 10-digit telephone number linked to the account that is out of power if you are calling from a different telephone number.

Please be sure that the information on your account includes your current telephone number and cell phone number. Having the correct numbers on file will allow the system to quickly and easily locate your account for prompt outage reporting. Please contact our office to update this information.

Report your outage through the SmartHub website and mobile app. Simply login to your SmartHub account and select “Report an Outage”.

Text "OUT" to 85700. Select which location you are reporting your outage at by sending back the letter of your address. Must text from a phone number that is linked to your account. Opt-in to outage texting by sending WINREMC to 85700.

Why Blinking Lights?

Blinks are created when a breaker, or switch, opens along any portion of the power system. The breaker usually opens because of a large, quick rise of electrical current. This large rise, called a fault condition, can occur when a tree branch touches a line, lightning strikes, or a wire breaks.

When this happens, a relay senses the fault and tells the breaker to open, preventing the flow of power to the problem site. After opening, the breaker quickly closes. The brief delay, which allows the fault to clear, usually lasts less than two seconds.

If the fault clears, every home or business that receives electricity off that power line has just experienced a blink. This could include thousands of accounts if the breaker protects a transmission line or a substation.

Blinks are the system's way of protecting itself and keeping you from being out of power. If you experience continual blinking lights, report this issue using our Express Services number at 888-456-9876.
