WIN Energy REMC sponsors students on the annual Indiana Electric Cooperative Youth Tour to Washington, D.C. The 2024 Indiana Youth Tour will take place June 16-23, 2024.
Students entering their senior year in 2024 are eligible to attend and will be selected to participate in the week long trip. Indiana sends a delegation of approximately 85 students from throughout the state. The students are selected by the local electric cooperatives to travel to Washington and convene with more than 1,800 students from up to 46 states.
Students participating in the trip visited the Gettysburg Battlefield, Arlington National Cemetery, the Smithsonian museums, tour the Jefferson, Martin Luther King, Jr., and Franklin D. Roosevelt Memorials, take a night cruise on the Potomac River, and much more.

Indiana Youth Tour students also participated in a youth rally hosted by the National Rural Electric Cooperative Association, during which they will share their thoughts and opinions on a variety of timely issues. The youth rally prepares the students for a day on Capitol Hill, where they have an opportunity to meet with Indiana’s congressional delegation.
Indiana’s electric cooperatives have hosted the Youth Tour since 1960, providing hundreds of young Hoosiers the opportunity to visit our nation’s capital, develop their leadership skills, and learn about the federal government and the cooperative utility industry.
